Since its establishment in 2014, Sense of Community NGO has been dedicated to empowering lives, building hope, and fostering enduring positive change in communities. One of the significant ways in which the organization fulfills its mission is through its clinic, which plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to refugees in Jordan, particularly those who have fled from Iraq and Syria.
Within the clinic, Sense of Community NGO has implemented various programs to address the unique healthcare needs of refugees. One such program focuses on supporting and assisting pregnant women. Recognizing the importance of prenatal care, the NGO ensures that expectant mothers receive the necessary medical attention and support throughout their pregnancies. By providing regular check-ups, prenatal vitamins, and access to specialized care, the clinic strives to promote healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries.
With an average of 300 medical support recipients per month, Sense of Community NGO’s clinic serves as a lifeline for many refugees in Jordan. The clinic offers a wide range of medical services, including general check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for common illnesses. The dedicated medical staff works tirelessly to ensure that every patient receives the care they need, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Education is a fundamental right that should be accessible to all, regardless of one’s circumstances. Sense of Community NGO recognizes this and has implemented programs that empower and enrich refugee students. Currently, the NGO has 150 enrolled students who are thriving and receiving quality education. Additionally, 30 students are part of a special program that provides them with extra support and enrichment opportunities, helping them overcome educational challenges and achieve their full potential.
Recognizing the importance of equipping refugees with skills that can lead to self-sufficiency, Sense of Community NGO’s clinic offers vocational training programs. These programs, which typically have 10-20 participants, provide refugees with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue employment opportunities. By offering training in various fields, such as carpentry, sewing, and computer skills, the NGO aims to empower refugees and enhance their chances of securing a sustainable livelihood.
As part of its commitment to fostering enduring positive change, Sense of Community NGO actively supports the local community through its church outreach program. With the involvement of 150 community members, the NGO provides assistance to those in need, organizes community events, and offers support to local churches. By working hand in hand with the community, the NGO aims to create a sense of belonging and promote social cohesion.
To ensure that refugees can easily access the clinic’s services, Sense of Community NGO has established convenient operational hours. The clinic is open from Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. However, please note that the clinic remains closed on Fridays.
Through its clinic, Sense of Community NGO is making a significant impact on the lives of refugees in Jordan. By providing vital healthcare services, supporting pregnant women, empowering students, offering vocational training, and engaging with the local community, the NGO is playing a crucial role in building hope and fostering enduring positive change. Sense of Community NGO’s commitment to serving refugees is a testament to the organization’s mission and its dedication to creating a better future for all.
